3rd Truman State Suicide

A Truman State University student from St. Peters was found dead Thursday morning at a fraternity house.

Joshua Thomas, 18, was found before 5 a.m. Thursday in the Alpha Kappa Lambda house, 918 South Osteopathy Avenue in Kirksville, Mo. A junior by credit hour, this was his first year on campus as a business administration major.

Steve Farnsworth, a Kirksville deputy police chief, said the cause of death was still being investigated. But Farnsworth did say that police were not searching for any suspects.

Thomas, who lived in a dormitory, is the third student to die in the same fraternity house since August. The two others, both sophomores, died within three weeks of each other in August.

Multiple sources confirmed that the two men who died in August had committed suicide. One of the men was from Eureka.

Adair County Coroner Brian Noe couldn’t be reached for comment on a cause of death for Thomas. An autopsy on Thomas was scheduled for Friday.
